Yoga

Most ancient Body-Mind integration approach.

Yoga is the most ancient Body-Mind integration approach that addresses every aspect of human existence - human health, life and its evolution. It comprises practices, principles, concepts, behavior, lifestyle interventions.

Yoga not only addresses human life but also its connection with others (social aspect) and the environment (including the entire universe) as well. That’s the ‘whole human’ concept according to yoga. Yoga practices and concepts are non-dogmatic and beneficial for anyone who follows them, irrespective of your beliefs, culture, nationality, or religion.

Many deep intricate aspects of yoga are yet to be understood fully. But some practices in yoga are backed by scientific evidence and have proven to be an effective way to heal, regulate and enhance our body-mind.

I have been trained in Krishnamacharya Desikachar tradition of yoga (KYM, Chennai) and Sivananda Yoga (Neyyar Dam, Kerala). Since 2006 I have been practicing and guiding students in yoga. Some of the yoga principles I follow in my sessions:

  • Using breath awareness as a bridge between body and mind.

  • Modifying yoga practices and concepts as  needed by the student depending on age, state, lifestyle, special conditions.

  • Encouraging element of observation, enquiry and reflection in the practice.

I incorporate yoga therapy, asana practice, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra, yoga psychology and lifestyle in my sessions. Apart from my 1:1 client sessions, I hold modules/seminars on yoga.
